Effipro duo spot-on treatment consists of 2 active ingredients – fipronil and pyriproxyfen. Fipronil is an effective adulticide whereas pyriproxyfen is a potent insect growth regulator. Fipronil efficiently disrupts the functioning of nerve cells in the fleas, paralyzing and thus, eliminating them. Pyroproxyfen effectively regulates the development of new fleas by preventing their multiplication, thus breaking off the flea life cycle. Effipro duo spot-on prevents flea and tick re-infestations as well.
I really like that Effipro is a topical treatment because it was comparatively easier to apply this treatment rather than administering tablets to my dog.
