Usage Directions For Nuheart Generic Heartgard

Nuheart is available in three different packs for weight-appropriate dosage in dogs of different sizes. The packs are available in color-coded boxes for easy identification and convenient selection.
Check your dog’s weight and get the pack that is appropriate for your dog’s bodyweight.
Remove one Nuheart water-soluble tablet from the blister card.
Place the tablet on the back of your dog’s throat, on the top of their tongue, and gently push it down their throat with your index finger.
Alternatively, you can dissolve the tablet in 5 – 10 mL of water or other fluid and add it to your dog’s food.
Observe your dog for several minutes and ensure that they consume the whole dose.
If the entire dose is not consumed, administer another tablet for your dog’s protection against heartworm infections. If in doubt, consult your veterinarian before re-dosing.
Give Nuheart to your dog every month, preferably on the same date.
If a dose is missed by not more than 7 days, give a Nuheart Tablet immediately and resume the monthly dosing schedule.

Precautions

Nuheart for Dogs is not effective against adult heartworms. Before beginning the treatment with it, the dog should be examined by a veterinarian for the presence of adult heartworm and microfilariae.
Adverse reactions may occur in Collie dogs and Border Collies. If adverse reactions occur, consult your veterinarian immediately.

Storage & disposal

Store the product in its original packaging, in a cool and dark place to protect it from light.
Store below 30°C (room temperature).
Dispose of the used container by wrapping it with paper and putting it in the garbage.

How to Use Nuheart

Get your dog checked with a veterinarian to ensure the absence of existing heartworm infection.

Place one Nuheart tablet on the back of your dog’s throat on top of the tongue, and push it down the throat with your index finger.

For fussy eaters, dissolve the tablet in 5-10 ml of water or other fluid and add it to your dog’s food.

Give one tablet once a month on the same day or within a few days of the same day for continued protection.
