Profender for Cats: Broad-spectrum Topical Dewormer

Profender is a topical deworming solution, convenient for cats that resist oral treatments. This spot-on helps you eliminate the most common types of worms from your cat, i.e., tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms.

A single easy application of this vet-recommended cat dewormer treats existing intestinal worm infections. You can repeat the treatment on your veterinarian’s advice in case of re-infections. Profender is suitable for use in cats and kittens aged 8 weeks and above, and weighing at least 2.2 lbs.

Why choose Profender cat dewormer?

  • Treats and controls common intestinal worms, including:
    • Hookworms
    • Tapeworms
    • Roundworms

Profender for Cats: Intestinal parasite treatment

Profender contains two active ingredients: Emodepside and praziquantel. On application, the ingredients are absorbed topically through your cat’s skin and reach the intestinal tract. Here, emodepside works to kill and remove adult and immature stages of roundworms and hookworms. Praziquantel, on the other hand, effectively removes tapeworms.

Ingredients

Emodepside and Praziquantel

  • Profender is available in three different packs for weight-appropriate dosage in cats of different sizes.
  • Check your cat’s weight and get the pack that is appropriate for your cat’s body weight.
  • Remove one unit dose tube from the package.
  • Hold the tube in an upright position and remove the cap from the tube.
  • Turn the cap over and place the other end of the cap onto the tip of the tube.
  • Twist the cap to break the seal, and then remove the cap from the tube.
  • Part the hair on the back of your cat’s neck at the base of the head, until the skin is visible.
  • Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the entire contents directly onto the skin.
  • Lift the tube away from the skin before releasing the pressure on the tube.
  • Do not apply it on your cat’s wet hair coat or broken skin.

For specific concerns, please consult your veterinarian before using Profender for Cats.

Does my indoor cat need a deworming treatment?

Parasites, like fleas, find their way inside the house by hitchhiking on clothes, shoes, etc., and can work as a carrier of intermediate stages of worms. When an indoor cat ingests fleas infected with tapeworms while self-grooming or hunts a mouse (or cockroach, etc.) carrying intermediate stages of worms, they get the infections. Therefore, deworming an indoor cat is important.
