Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs: Monthly Parasite Treatment

Protect your dog against common parasites with the palatable Sentinel Spectrum Chews. This once-a-month oral treatment is effective against multiple common parasites and is suitable for dogs and puppies aged 6 weeks and older, and weighing 2 lbs. or greater.

Sentinel Spectrum monthly treatment comes in an easy-to-administer, beef and bacon-flavor chew form, for easy acceptance and fuss-free dosage. It is a convenient option for dogs that do not like topical treatments. When administered regularly as directed, it may help provide a spectrum of protection to your dog against unseen parasites.

Why choose Sentinel Spectrum Chews?

Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs provide protection against 6 common parasite threats. When used as directed, this oral treatment:

  • Prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis
  • Prevents and controls flea populations
  • Treats and controls adult roundworm, adult hookworm, adult whipworm, and adult tapeworm infections

Sentinel Spectrum Chews: Protection against Unseen Parasites

Sentinel Spectrum Chews contain milbemycin oxime, lufenuron, and praziquantel as active ingredients. Milbemycin oxime is an anthelmintic that eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and the adult stage of hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm infestations when administered as recommended.

Lufenuron is an insect development inhibitor that breaks the flea life cycle by inhibiting egg development. It prevents most flea eggs from hatching or maturing into adults and thus prevents and controls flea populations by breaking the life cycle.

Praziquantel, on the other hand, disrupts the nervous system of parasites (tapeworms), causing paralysis in them. Parasites lose grip on the intestinal wall of the dog and get eliminated from the body.

Ingredients

Milbemycin oxime, Lufenuron, Praziquantel

Usage Directions For Sentinel Spectrum
  • Sentinel Spectrum Chews are available in different color-coded packs for easy identification and weight-appropriate dosage in dogs of different sizes. Check your dog’s weight and get the pack that is appropriate for their bodyweight.
  • Give the recommended dosage of the chew orally to your dog once every month.
  • You can offer the chew to your dog by hand or add it to a small amount of dog food.
  • Administer the chew in a manner that encourages your dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. You may break the chew into pieces and feed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole.
  • To ensure adequate absorption, always administer this chew to your dog immediately after or in conjunction with a normal meal.
  • Observe your dog for several minutes to ensure that they consume the complete dose, and that no part of the dose is lost or rejected.
  • If you suspect that any of the dose has been lost, re-dosing is recommended.
  • For heartworm prevention, administer the dosage at monthly intervals beginning within one month of the dog’s first seasonal exposure to mosquitoes and continue for at least 6 months after the dog’s last seasonal exposure to mosquitoes.
  • If switching to this chew from another heartworm preventive, the first dose of Sentinel Spectrum should be given within a month of the last dose of the former preventive.
