Summer Safety Tips

calendar  Jul 29, 2017

Summers are a playful season for pets as well as the pet-parents. It is in this weather the great bathing suits and sunscreen comes out of the hiding. Even many pets love to go to the beaches and enjoy. However, just to be on the safe side, don't forget that summer heat can be quite dangerous for the pet at times. Here are a few tips for pet-parents just to make sure your pet is doing well.

  • Provide plenty of water to the pets. This will avoid the phase of dehydration. In summers, most of you try to spend as much time possible living outside. Just ensure that after playing and running your pooch gets a bowl full of water to quench his thirst.
  • As a measure of protection, always ensure that your pet rests under a shade. Don't let the sun drain out all the energy. Shade and plenty of water prevent heat strokes from affecting your pet's health.
  • Don't ever even for a few minutes leave your pet alone in the car. It is an offense in some countries to leave them unattended in the car. This is because the temperature inside the car is generally higher as compared to the outer weather. Moreover, it keeps on rising at a rapid rate, which is lethal for the pets.
  • Protect your pet from getting sunburns. Yes, it is not just a problem in humans but pets as well. Sunscreens are available to safeguard your pooch or kitty while you enjoy on a beach or outside of the house.
  • Fleas and ticks are a constant reminder that the parasitic season is back to haunt the pets again. Yes, fleas and ticks season is also summers and they need to be kept as far from pets as possible. There are numerous preventions and treatments that you can use on your baby to guard it against any bites and infections.
  • Exercising the pet is an important ritual for all the pet-parents and it is appreciable. But, when the summer heat is at its highest no one feels like taking the furry pal to a walk. Choose efficient times like early morning and late evening for exercise and walking routines. This won't even make you and your pet lazy and even protect from the scorching heat.
